Margaret Mitchell’s only published work, Gone With the Wind, is a novel of massive proportions. Not to be confused as an out-and-out love story this historical saga spans the years of the American Civil War and the period of Reconstruction and traces with it the life of Scarlett O’Hara. What brought me to Gone With the Wind is hard to tell. A solid resolve of reading almost everything I could lay my hands on, perhaps? Or chance? I am yet to know.
