Four

264 words

Daily Schedule

7:05 am: Alarm
8:00 am: Workout. Ponder over the worst things that have happened to me in the theatre of my mind
10:00 am: Use a brown eyeliner because it is softer, apply only sunscreen because it is too humid, leave for work.
1:00 pm: Listen to vegetarians exclaim how they’re vegetarian. Again. Eat lunch. Walk in the sunlight wanting to avoid it, but at the same time bask in it because it is a beautiful day. Again.
4:00 pm: Feel the light getting softer, feel the day descending inside a smile. Drink a small cup of chai.
6:23 pm: Watch the sun set. Know it is maghrib time. Pray a late prayer past sunset. Do it quickly and then wish I had done it slowly.
8:00 pm: Watch life pass me by and not have a regular tv show to watch. Not have time free. Not be able to have a leisure dinner. Attend work meetings.
9:30 pm: Finish work for the day. Think of the vitamins yet to be eaten; the skincare I am too exhausted to reach for; the blog post I am yet to write. Remind myself this is why I need a 3 day weekend because my weekdays are smashed. Feel the tiredness in my bones.
10:00 pm: Finish writing the blog post not knowing if I can do this day all over again. Make bed. Revenge bed time procrastination.
11:00 pm: Sleep
