Five Songs on my Playlist

Not intended to add to the overflowing lists on the Internet, but well, this is a list. The thing about reading and music, as I have realised recently, is that re-discovering them is a whole new kind of elation. Which goes to say, I am elated. So, here’s my (short) list of songs that I keep playing over and over these days. I have picked only five songs to keep it simple. Of course, my playlist will change with time. But for now, this is it.

1. Team – Lorde

We live in cities you’ll never see on screen
Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things
Living in ruins of the palace within my dreams
And you know we’re on each other’s team

2. Badra Bahaar – Amit Trivedi

Amma ki chaabhi ke, challe se khole
Tijori mein jaanu, sapne hai padhe
Jhooti jhoothi, kahani pariyon ki
Thi jo tu bata…
O badra bahaar

3. Distance – Christina Perri feat. Jason Mraz

And I will make sure to keep my distance
Say “I love you” when you’re not listening

4. Wildfire – John Mayer

River’s strong you can’t swim inside it
We could string some lights up the hill beside it
Tonight the moon’s so bright
You could drive with your headlights out
‘Cause a little bit of summer’s what the whole year’s all about

5. Something Pretty – Patrick Park

At the most I’m a glare,
I’m the hopeless son who’s hardly there.
I’m the open sign that’s always busted.
I’m the friend you need, but can’t be trusted.
